O’Connell’s GFC travelled to John Mitchels on Tuesday, May 28th knowing that victory would see the side progress to the knockout stages of Division 6. Thankfully for all involved, the team was able to produce the victory, coming away 1-09 to 2-18 to the good. Goals from Adam Flynn and Harry Kierans ensured that passage to the knockouts would be secured, with many players putting in standout performances. Louth U20 Team defeated in All-Ireland Final

Commiserations to Justin Cooney and all the Louth U20 squad who were defeated in the U20 All-Ireland Football Final on Wednesday, May 28th in Armagh. The squad performed brilliantly all year to get to the final and were defeated by a much stronger Tyrone side on the day.

U14 Team defeated in League Final

Commiserations to the St Michaels U14 squad who were defeated by Roche Emmets in the Division 3 League Final on Monday, June 2nd. A fantastic showcase of football for both sides, St. Micheals were unfortunate to be the team on the side of defeat. The team starts their championship campaign very soon and will be hoping to bounce back from this setback. A huge thank you to Tom Cooney and Martin Kearney who are the O’Connell’s GFC coaches involved with the side.
