Social Dancing will return to the clubrooms on Saturday, 15th February with music by Curtis Magee, doors
will open at 8pm.

Louth GAA Óg Sport Blitzes

The Louth GAA Óg Sport Blitzes began on Saturday, 8th February with O’Connell’s GFC being represented
at U8 and U10 level. Well done to all who contributed to what was a great day of football, with special
thanks to the coaches of the U8 and U10 teams. The blitzes will continue in DKIT Sport on Saturday, 15th
February.
Allianz League Round 3

Louth travel to Breffni Park on Sunday to take on a Cavan team that has struggled to get going so far this
season. Ger and his team will be hoping for a better result than last time out where they were defeated by
Roscommon in Drogheda. Louth will be forced into some squad changes after Craig Lennon was withdrawn
early against Roscommon with a suspected hamstring injury. The game will throw in at 2pm and will be
broadcast live on LMFM.

Local College Football

Best of luck to DKIT who travel to Galway on Wednesday for the 2025 Trench Cup final. Having been
beaten finalists in the past 2 years, the team will be hoping to go one step further this year and secure
promotion to the Sigerson Cup for 2026. Best of luck to Coaching Officer Wayne Kierans who is involved
on the coaching staff with the college.

New Club Website

The new O’Connell’s GFC Club Website will launch on Friday, February 21st. The website will be the new
home of all things O’Connell’s GFC, with club news, match reports, underage reports and much more
available. Anyone who has pictures they wish to have displayed on the website should contact Darragh at
